How’s your week been? Could you do with a pick-me-up to beat the winter blues?
Well, my shared thought for today is below. I hope it gives you the prompt you need… if you need it.
Btw, I’m aware that you may have seen this poem before. But I reckon it still applies to many of us (me included!). And on this dreary Friday, YOU deserve to feel good about yourself regardless... Because that's what my poems are all about 😘!
Actually, I realised the other day you may sometimes wonder why I write them.
I'm happy to share a little on that…
It’s because writing poems has helped me to express myself while I tackle emotional challenges.
In the past, these emotional challenges have involved family, parenting, career, divorce, you name it… Not to mention huge self-esteem issues, co-dependency traits, and an overriding feeling that I was in a goldfish bowl; I could see the world, but somehow couldn’t’ connect with it.
A lot of that stemmed from childhood, of course. And I’ve had to really self-analyse to free myself from the limitations all the above created.
But… free myself I have. I can honestly say I’ve moved beyond surviving to thriving.
As you can see, therefore, writing poetry was very much part of my enlightenment journey. Which is why I hope it connects with you sometimes and helps YOU to work your way through your fog. So you can feel good about yourself and your world too. It really is that simple.
So, on that note, I wish you a very happy Friday. Here’s my upbeat thought for you to ponder 😊.
