I'm sorry you haven't heard from me for a few days. I've been busy doing fun things like enjoying rainy weekend music festivals - ha ha - and weekday freelance writing for business.
I've been a freelance writer for business for many years now. It's rewarding work, pays the bills, and most importantly enables me to spend time also writing happy poems for wonderful peeps like you! :-)
Anyway, recently, I've been working on a commission for 12 poems for a business. It's always a HUGE compliment when I am commissioned to write poems. But, I have to say, it is also always quite a challenge.
To get it right, I have to spend time really getting to understand the business to ensure I can communicate their message(s) in the right way. I have to understand their audience so I can pitch the tone correctly and ensure the business shows that it properly empathises with those it is trying to communicate. Not always easy when I have to coach a business to understand this in the first place!
Anyway, I've drafted 10 of the poems and have 2 left to go. And I thought I'd take a breather, say hi to you, and share one of my more thoughtful pieces because it fully reflects my state of mind today and my writing career… lol.
