Hellooooo!
This post is for the gardeners among you 
… or the gardeners you know.
I confess, I'm not blessed with green-fingered success. However, I do still love to sit in a nice garden during the summer, so I tend to rely mainly on annuals in pots and a dogged determination to minimise the weeds.
But, regardless of my lack of gardening ability, I did think it would be fun to draft a poem about this popular pursuit. And I ended up with 2 versions. They are similar but different… if that makes sense, lol.
Why do I love gardening? – Version 1
Does nature’s magic palette
Filled with shrubs and flowers in bloom
Fuel my yen to craft new beauty
In a world that’s filled with gloom?
Or… does the treasure trove of gadgets
So designed for every need
Fill my greenhouse heart with joy
As they petrify each weed?
Or… do I simply love the challenge
Of beating Britain’s weather
Knowing all my tools and plants and I
Are in this fight together?
Who knows… but one thing is for sure
And that’s when all is done and said
There is nothing like a cuppa
Sipped in peace inside my shed!

Not warn me of the perils
That spell thorny prickle doom?
And why do all those clever tools
Designed for every need
Make my seedlings hit or miss
And yet nurture every weed?
