9th January, 2015 Lucky me! Once again I got the chance to chatter and strut my word stuff on Rob Adcock's fab Drivetime show on BBC Radio Northampton :-). To hear this week's poem, click the player below... GK's Peek at Drivetime's Week 09/01/15 Recapping Christmas: Rob’s a bit plumper His dog was a reindeer. Kate had the same jumper And hit by an ‘itis’ attacking his ears He was off for a while, but he’s back with ideas More hare-brained games with theme tunes galore This ‘itis’ has lots it’s responsible for! But turning to news – both here and abroad What’s been ahappenin’ that can’t be ignored? What can deflect from Rob’s Blankety Blank? Well… how ‘bout a ship getting stuck on a bank? Or a general election – the start of campaigning Methinks the next four months will be somewhat draining! And whilst this week’s weather can’t make up its mind Labour defectors have been reassigned An ALMO’s now running our shire’s council housing Drink/driving’s fallen – Ah! That’s worth espousing! An A&E crisis, though, needs to be sorted And Oldham’s Chad Evans plans now are aborted Ofsted thinks safeguarding’s slowly improving Though not for grey squirrels – the pests need removing And talking departures, poor Northampton Town Have lost a few players – but fear not, don’t frown For Northampton exports have all been increasing Unlike oil prices, whose fall seems unceasing It’s hard to decide what more distracts… The drop in inflation… or Rob’s random facts?! Perhaps it is best not to answer such queries Who knows what his brain might just spawn from our theories! So let’s once again, focus on news And keep it upbeat, about things to enthuse Like how Northampton rugby will hear no complaints ‘Cos fab JJ Hanrahan’s joining The Saints And RAF Croughton will double in size Will that mean more airmen? More handsome GIs? Who knows… but the start of this year’s been a belter With more homes being found by an animal shelter Hey, Rob! Watch out! Coco may overhear And think, “P’rhaps a new home could mean Bye Bye reindeer…!”
