27th June, 2014 Thank you, Rob, for letting me 'celebrate' the first anniversary of your starting on Drivetime! Congratulations! To hear this week's poem, click the player below... GK’s Peek at Drivetime's Week – 27/06/14 Before we get going, let’s first give a cheer For Rob’s been on Drivetime for bang on a year! And thanks, too, to Annabel, hosting so wittily Monday, whilst Rob swanned off filming in Italy Still… moving to sport, some may feel quite deprived But Wimbledon does now mean summer’s arrived Forget about football, and – dare I say – cricket For just a few days let’s not bat, bowl or kick it Instead, let’s think forehands and volleys that charm And show Suarez strawberries taste nicer than ‘arm’ For though they are fruity and known to be sweet If he wants to cut sugar, then strawbs work a treat But other than sport, it would seem our fair shire Is great for small business, has lots to admire And has caught the attention of some Gov committee Who’re thinking of building a new garden city And that’s not the only new building proposed Poor Flore now has sixty new homes being imposed Just as Mark Carney announces new rules To curb mortgage lending and stop banks being fools And other news stories are: Wonga’s been shook Coulson is guilty; Brooks is off the hook Unison’s voted for more striking pain And Glastonbury’s dealing with sunshine and rain Cycling road safety is being debated Zero hours contracts are now overrated Corby’s had problems with sewage mistakes And tickets for Bernie have sold like hot cakes And all of this happened only this week Reported on Drivetime with humour – unique In fact, this last year, Rob, through jokes and fun moans We’ve learnt quite a lot via your dulcet tones…
