26th August, 2013 Big thanks to Rob Adcock, of BBC Radio Northampton, for inviting me onto his Drivetime show on Friday 23rd August to do a poetic summary of Drivetime's week... :-) If you'd like to listen again, here it is: GK's Peek at Drivetime's Week Some week it’s been across Northants As taxis led a merry dance For many learned: Leave nowt to chance When Jules’s son donned BIG BOY PANTS! But first, what kept us free of care? Yes! Celebrations everywhere A trophy cupboard not so bare Now filled with cricket silverware For sport is where we’ve made the grade Our transplant stars, with medals sprayed And golf and boxing’s future paved With Chantal’s and Charlie’s aid Yet stop and search has had some flak With people asking, "What’s the crack? Those health check costs, if they’re off track Why can’t one just go see a quack?” But just before we turned to grouse Rob asked us all to use our nous And talk of old stuff in the house Like Ian’s forty-something spouse We tapped our feet to Motown’s beat Complete with Simon’s pub quiz treat And cheered the Grumpy Gardener’s feat Rejecting Dragon Den‘s elite So when exam results came out Those filled with joy did jump and shout Whilst others wrestled crushing doubt A time to ask what life’s about Oh what a week, has seen Northants Across the county’s wide expanse We’ve laughed, we’ve moaned, with jokes and rants But ne’er forgetting those BIG BOY PANTS!
