22nd December, 2013 Another fun moment on Rob Adcock's BBC Radio Northampton Drivetime show last Friday. Click the player below to catch it again... GK’s Peek at Drivetime’s Week – 20/12/13 'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through Northants Vendors did vend, shoppers scuttled like ants Butchers battled with turkeys and strung chipolatas Kids readied their stockings, mums readied their garters And all of the time, the weather played foul The rain spattered down and the wind it did howl Posties picked and packed parcels, late into the night And Jules broke the news - Christmas may not be white But still life continued, our whole county spanning Like Northampton Uni found out it got planning And Kettering motioned to stop HS2 Rob announced he'd discovered a wedding venue The Government talked of an airport extension Though which one was still something under contention And like that fast train, some cried, "Finanancial fudge it!" When most local councils then saw cut in budget. But not to be downcast, ensuring grins beckoned Rob said, "Think of Bolt... Try to beat sixteen seconds!" And he spread out our smiles, like a prism refractor With knick knacks competing to win Xmas Factor Which had more success than his call for invites To go and switch on someone's Christmassy lights But that's by the by. Folks, the die has been cast For if things aren't posted, you've now missed first class This week before Christmas, with five days to go As we finish our shopping, enjoying no snow Let's wish Rob good luck and a Christmas soooooooo pleasant If he gives his betrothed a joint Birthday/Yule present
