It's been a week of varied news
Reports from far and wide
Some good, some bad, some glad, some sad
We've smiled, we've sighed, we've cried

Frst off, Rob did a kennel build
His dog watched with alarm
She’d rather loaf(a) on the sofa
Flat-packs sooooo lack charm…

And Corby's seen its share of gloom
With Solway now to close
We've learned through sobs of probs with jobs
Nine hundred folk with woes

But soon The Dogs to Towcester come
So there are still things agroovin'
And Nationwide, decide with pride
Their stayin'... well... not movin'

Plus we'll soon see KRS on busses
And Tresham's won some dough
To fritter on twitter and facebooky glitter
As if our kids don't know

Wow! Northants University
Has publicly been praised
For the rise in social enterprise
Is a trail that they have blazed

Our hospitals though have had flak
Their standards in the dock
To now succeed indeed they need
At least pull up one sock

And our plods need pull the other
Re: domestic based abuse
But still, our learners shone like burners
On Beeb ‘Report Day’ news

And looking out beyond Northants
To what has filtered in
Gay weddings start and goats are smart
The Big Six cause chagrin

Oh, yes, ha ha! And HS2
Has done its usual jig
As one declared t’should be compared
To a glossy lipsticked pig

‘Course all throughout dear Rob has moaned
His flat pack's tips misled
Takes ten degrees with allen keys
To build a dog a bed
